About

I am an electrical engineer by trade, working in the medical equipment service business for more than 25 years. In my free time, I am mushroom enthusiast. I live in South Western  Ontario.
I do not have any scientific background in mycology and everything on this site is the result of my own experience.  All the pictures are taken by me. I love hunting and eating mushrooms.
My intention is to provide extensive galleries of mushrooms in different stages of development with some information that can help avoid mistakes in identification, as well as some of my methods of cooking and preservation.
If not explicitly stated differently, all the pictures and collections are taken within 150km of my residence.

    1. They grow only under conifers, in my experience spruce is their favorite. Under pines I tend to find more of Lactarius indigo. Taste wise I don’t think there is a big difference. I prefer both pickled. This year I did not find any big flashes of either one of them.
